Hand-picked new music. Every week we sift what the tastemakers are playing — BBC Introducing, Radio 1's new-music shows, 6 Music, The Line of Best Fit, NPR, the music press and the charts — and pick the cuts worth your ears, with the trail of who played them first.
The playlist
New tracks land in the Fresh Cuts playlist every week, with the freshest at the top. Follow it on Spotify and the cuts come to you — this page is where you find out why each one made it.

How Fresh Cuts works
Eleven lists, read every day — from the BBC Introducing uploads to the charts. Every artist gets placed on a ladder. When two or more tastemakers agree, we listen harder. When something climbs, we tell you.
The BBC Introducing Mixtape — the national showcase of unsigned uploads, one hour a week on 6 Music.
Sian Eleri's Future Artists on Radio 1, and The Line of Best Fit's Discovery playlist and track of the day.
Jack Saunders' New Music Show, 6 Music's New Music Fix Daily and Radio 1's Power Down Playlist.
The 6 Music playlist, NPR's All Songs Considered, Rolling Stone UK and NME.
New entries on the Official Albums Chart and Spotify's UK Top 50 — where the climb ends.
An artist counts once per tastemaker, however many plays. Two voices agreeing is the strongest signal we have.
Started on Introducing, Future Artists or Best Fit and has since reached a specialist show, a playlist, the press or the charts.
The trail is data. The pick is a person — every cut here was chosen by ear at Atomic Floyd.
